BAY AREA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY
Bay Area Habitat for Humanity is building!
If your small group would like to participate, we have everything from roofing to painting. No experience or tools are required, we will provide everything needed for the day’s build. We have houses going up in Texas City and LaPorte. You will get a chance to meet the homeowner and some of our wonderful Habitat employees too!
The Bay Area Habitat Restore needs donations!
Do you have household goods, furniture, tools? Are you remodeling and have old cabinets, tiles, fixtures? We will come pick up donations or they can be dropped off at the store on NASA parkway. You can call 281-332-1118 or visit http://www.bahfh.org/restore-donations/

BE THE LIGHT
Combating Human Trafficking
Be The Light is hosting its next anti-human trafficking education event on Saturday, September 10th from 8:30am to 2pm at the Egret Bay Campus (Creek Kids building, Room A). Join us as the WINGS Ministry conducts an in-depth training class to help you and/or your small group become aware of this very real problem in the greater Houston area and be equipped to serve in various capacities.
The WINGS Ministry will share their expertise on the state of human trafficking in our area, as well as practical knowledge for how to make a difference. This training will qualify you to serve in a number of capacities with Be The Light and several other organizations that work directly with trafficking victims.
In addition, partner ministries in the greater Houston area will be setup to share information with you on their local efforts to combat human trafficking and some will have items for sale that were made by victims to help support their recovery. Please bring cash or checks in order to purchase these items, if you wish.
Also, please share this invitation with and encourage the men in your life to attend this training. There are some unique roles that men can play in this ministry and we know there are great men at CCCC that God might call into these roles if they are made aware of the opportunity and need.
This class is FREE and coffee/pastries and lunch will be provided, so please register for this class ASAP at http://bit.ly/2ahjsqT.

GALVESTON URBAN MINISTRIES
Saturday Kid’s Club
Galveston Urban Ministries (G.U.M.) is looking for groups of students and adults to help with our Saturday Kid’s Club. Every Saturday from 10am to noon we head over to Wright Cuney Recreational Park located in the North Broadway neighborhood to engage with the local kids! We play games with them, do crafts, teach them a short bible lesson, and then feed them a lite snack. Not only will you fall in love with our kiddos but this is a great way to get your whole family involved missions without having a huge time commitment. We’re looking for a couple of groups of between 6-12 people to commit to one serving Saturday a month for this semester.
Home Improvement Tasks
Galveston Urban Ministries (G.U.M.) is looking for a group skilled carpenters, painters, or just general contractors to serve this semester. G.U.M. has been blessed to be able to purchase five new properties in the last year but they need a lot of work! We are looking for groups and individuals that can tackle tasks like installing drywall, putting in new doors, framing walls, installing siding, and other home improvement tasks. This opportunity is great for a either a weekend retreat or a simple day trip for a few hours on a Saturday. If this sounds like something you or your small group might be interested in, please contact Brandon Williams at email@example.com.

The distributions start at 9am and go until approximately 11am. Children are welcomed, but require adequate supervision as both events occur in parking lots and with large crowds.
