GALVESTON STREET MINISTRY

Galveston Street Ministry offers time of praise & worship, a brief message, and a call to accept Jesus along with a hot breakfast and medical care to needy people at the corner of 20th and Winnie. Everyone comes expecting food, prayer and an encouraging message from the Lord.

There are many serving opportunities available so everyone can find some way to minister to the 200 indigent served every Saturday morning. Serving can include walking with individuals in the food lines, passing out drinks to those waiting in line for food or medical services, or visiting and praying with the people who show up.
If a small group wants to provide food, clothes, or other items (bibles, sanitary items, etc.) they are free to do so. All that needs to happen is the group arrive no later than 7:45 AM with a table to place their items on, put up the table at an open space around the perimeter of the parking lot, and wait until AFTER the service to begin distributing. People will gather around the table as soon as you begin setting up to see what you all have, but it is imperative that nothing we do take away from each Saturday’s worship and message. Once the message is finished, distribution can begin.

Items to bring: Bibles, small bags of snacks, bottles of water, men’s shaving kits, toothbrush kits, seasonal clothes/jackets, new or gently used clothes (including socks, new men’s & women’s underwear), hats, blankets, individual sized sunscreen, hand sanitizer, dog food, women’s hygiene products, shoes – this is not an exhaustive list so feel free to add on.

ORPHAN CARE SUPPORT

What: Foster Parent Night Out
When: Saturday, September 29th 2:45-7:00pm
Where: Kiddie Academy West in League City

Join us as we serve the foster families within Clear Creek Community Church. We host foster children (and their siblings) from birth to 12 years old once a month at a local daycare. Finding childcare for foster families can prove to be difficult, so this allows foster parents to have some (much-needed) time to themselves. Kiddie Academy provides staff for each room, but we supply the volunteers! This is a great way for these kids to have another positive influence in their lives. Most days it is hard to tell who is having more fun- the kids or the volunteers! We have kids from ALL campuses attend this event monthly! Great Go-Op for small groups and/or individuals looking to show love to the orphans in our community.

Background check is required by the church. If interested, contact Cari and she will get you signed up.

Not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can do something. Could this be YOUR “something?”
