Clothed By Faith SE is a ministry located in Deer Park which provides clothing to people in need in the community partnering with area non-profits and local school districts.

OPPORTUNITY 1: Children’s Program Snack Provider – We’re looking for volunteers to provide an easy, healthy snack for our kids!

Good Neighbors is accepting donations of basic school supplies for the children of Rancho del Rey and Town Village. We will be distributing on our regular 3rd Saturday serve day in August 17th.

Houston Welcomes Refugees (HWR) strives to ease the resettlement process for refugees coming to Houston by mobilizing invested, caring volunteers. As followers of Jesus, we believe it is our job to love those who come to our city out of the overflow of love we receive from Christ. Our model is holistic and intended to empower rather than enable the families we serve. The best way we can serve HWR from CCCC is to donate Welcome Kits. These kits contain various household items that a new arriving family will need to set up a home. We are looking for groups interested in putting together kits from time-to-time. OPPORTUNITY 1: TBJP is in need of Birthday Fixins. They join in to collecting Birthday Fixins with CASA. So they are in need of small groups to take collections. The needs in donating cake mix, frosting, and icing/gel pens for these bags. TBJP provides “Birthday Fixin’s Bags” to children in crisis (CPS, foster care, financial hardship) who would not otherwise be able to celebrate their birthday. Each bag contains themed party decorations (banner, plates, cups, napkins), balloons, candles, wrapped gift, and cake mix, frosting, icing pen. They are currently in need of cake mix, frosting, gel/icing pens! Donations that your family or small group would like to collect can be picked up on Monday’s by texting the address to (281) 703-1843. TBJP is in need of Birthday Fixins. OPPORTUNITY 2: TBJP hosts birthday parties at children’s shelters in La Porte and Liverpool each month. Volunteers will help with set up and decorations, overseeing party games and food, and clean up. This is a fun experience for small groups, families, or individuals that brings joy to children in our community!

Can you help make a house a home?

The mission of The Bridge over Troubled Waters is to offer support, provide safety and prevent domestic and sexual violence. With a full service live in shelter for 100 women and children there is ongoing needs in a variety of ways for the shelter located in Pasadena.

One of the ways CCCC has supported the The Bridge is through helping furnish apartments when the clients move out from the shelter. We are so excited to share The Bridge has received a housing grant for 25 new apartments, starting in October 2019. So, we are looking for small groups to adopt approximately 10 single ladies and 15 families who will be moving into these new apartments. Most ladies come to the shelter with nothing, so they will need furniture, linens, kitchen items & decor to fill these blank apartments to help them feel like they have a home. We are asking that each group be responsible for collecting & storing items to furnish one whole apartment with the basic necessities & then moving them into the apartments, once they become available.

Let us know if your group/family/company can help us bless these women and children through adopting either a single woman or family apartment. On average the families include mom & three kids and if you choose to adopt a family with kids your group would know the age and sex of the children to provide for in late August/September.

If you aren’t capable of providing for a whole apartment and just have items to donate or if you want to help solely with manual labor of moving items please contact Jackie Amato at vbjack@hotmail.com so that we can coordinate your donations. Individual donation items won’t be available for coordination of drop off or pick up until September, so feel free to let us know you have something but just know we need your assistance storing until closer to move time. Additionally, items can be new or gently used and do not have to match or coordinate perfectly.

The Mercy Tree provides God’s word and a meal to the homeless people in the Clear Lake area. Individuals, families, or small groups can volunteer to provide a meal at one of the 5 local churches that provide space for The Mercy Tree. Planning ahead is necessary because dates quickly fill up often months in advance. Open dates can be found on the website (www.themercytree.org) by clicking on the volunteer tab and scrolling through the calendar. When you click on the date, the time and location will appear. Email volunteer @themercytree.org to sign up for the open date. At this time, the next open dates are Wednesday – 8/21 and Tuesday – 8/27.
Please cook or purchase a meal, and provide cold drinks for 20 individuals. Use disposable food containers and provide paper plates, napkins, and plastic ware.

Hurricane Harvey was over a year ago but there are still families recovering from that devastating storm. The 4B Disaster Response Network continues to rebuild homes. Will you join our efforts to reach out in the community?

First Saturday Serve is the first Saturday of each month.  We meet at the 4B Warehouse at 144 Park Avenue (the League City Public Works building), for prayer and instructions and then go out on assignment.  There is a job for everyone – no construction experience is necessary just a willingness to help our community.  So that we can prepare the projects, we ask that you register before the last Thursday of the previous month.  To register go to www.4bresponse.org or for more information call Shari.
