We are continuing to serve our Good Neighbors at Rancho del Rey and Town Village mobile home parks through “Ministry by Mail.” Each week that would be a serve week during non-pandemic times, we are writing a note of encouragement, prayer, and scripture, along with ten dollars towards their grocery needs, and mailing to families of the regular attenders of our Bible Study and Grocery Pick up. If you would like to participate in this effort by supporting one family (or more) from the neighborhood, please reach out and we will provide you with the name and address of a family to walk beside.

The Mercy Tree provides God’s word and a meal to the homeless people in the Clear Lake area. Individuals, families, or small groups can volunteer to provide a meal at one of the 4 local churches that provide space for The Mercy Tree. Planning ahead is necessary because dates quickly fill up often months in advance. Open dates can be found on the website (www.themercytree.org) by clicking on the volunteer tab and scrolling through the calendar. When you click on the date, the time and location will appear. Email volunteer@themercytree.org to sign up for the open date. Currently, the following summer dates are open: February 15, 22, and March 1, 15, 21, 22, 23

Please cook or purchase a meal, and provide cold drinks for 20 individuals. Use disposable food containers and provide paper plates, napkins, and plastic ware.

Thank you for considering The Mercy Tree as a Go Local opportunity and for blessing our clients with a meal.

Four years out from Harvey, we still send teams into the community Tuesday through Saturday to rebuild homes impacted by that hurricane.  However, since the Winter Storm in February, we have also been working in homes impacted by the cold.

We meet at the 4B Warehouse at 15 27th Street N in Texas City at 8 a.m. for prayer and instructions and then go out on assignment.  There is a job for everyone – no construction experience is necessary, just a willingness to help our community.   To register please go to our website.
