Opportunity 1: Small Project – BATP always has an ongoing list of small projects that need to be completed including painting, landscaping, organizing food, separating donations, cleaning, etc. If your group is interested, please contact me and we’ll find the project that best fits your group! Teens over 14 years old welcome!

Opportunity 2: Food or Needs Drives – BATP has a specific list of needs each month for both food and items (paper goods, diapers, etc.). Please contact me for the list and get together as a group to gather as many items on the list as you are able. Get the kids involved by taking them shopping for the list or asking them to make cards for the welcoming baskets that the ladies receive when they enter the shelter (positive words and uplifting Bible Verses are perfect).

The Bridge is hosting several marathons this fall and needs volunteers.  If you would like to help with setup/cleanup, check-in, refreshments, or other projects let us know!

Adopt a Mom! The Center for Pregnancy is looking for individuals or small groups that would be interested in adopting a mom. This is for moms that are actively involved in our weekly mentoring program, we would love to bless them with extra items and supplies for their baby!

Opportunity 1: CLFP is in need of volunteers on their distribution days, Monday and Thursday from 7-10am. Volunteers will set up distribution stations, hand out food, and clean up stations. No need to sign-up; just show up and tell them CCCC sent you!

Opportunity 2: CLFP accepts regular donations of dry goods (rice, pasta) canned meats (tuna, chicken), and canned vegetables. There is also a need for toiletries, diapers, and formula. Donations can be dropped off at the pantry during distribution times (Mondays and Thursdays 8:00-10:00am) The Pantry is located at Clear Lake Baptist Church, 15700 Space Center Blvd, Houston 77062.

Good Neighbors serves people living outside the margin, right here in League City. We provide groceries (fresh produce and dry goods) as a way to support their physical needs while sharing the Good News as a way to support their spiritual needs. We serve every 1st and 3rd Saturday except for holiday weekends and provide Groceries and Gospel from 10:30 to noon. We show up and set up at 10:30. Bring your kids, this is a great opportunity for your kids to serve with you, and seeing all our kids playing together is a huge blessing. We have a Children’s Ministry blanket that happens during Bible Storytime so that the grownups can focus on the Story, and the kiddos can hear a story of their own and have some fun making crafts, coloring, and playing games together. After storytime, we all pray together, then the neighbors share their prayer requests, make their food selections, and we wrap up, tear down, and are done by noon. We are currently meeting in the Soccer fields, 320 Texas Avenue, League City. 10:30 – noon, 1st and I rd Saturdays. We gratefully receive contributions of fresh produce, dried goods, and bread to share with our Good Neighbors.

Opportunity 1: Senior Luncheon Team – On the 3rd Friday of each month we have a luncheon for our senior citizens. There are typically 35-50 seniors in attendance. We decorate the room the afternoon before the party (Thursday) and show up at 9am on Friday to set out the food and drinks, prepare coffee, etc. We provide decorations, party favors, door prizes, lunch, dessert, coffee, Bingo, and Bingo prizes. We need volunteers to help decorate the room, set up party favors and the photo booth, serve food and drinks, call Bingo, visit with guests, and give out prizes.

Opportunity 2: Senior Food Delivery – On the last week of the month, when most senior citizens start running low on funds, we make home deliveries from our food pantry. Volunteers will pick up pre-packaged food from Lighthouse (including shelf-stable items, frozen & refrigerated items, and pet food) and deliver it to local seniors in Bacliff, Bayview, San Leon, and Kemah. There are 3 routes, and we are hoping to find 3 volunteers. There are about 5 stops per route.

Opportunity 1: MI Lewis is looking for a volunteer to make pick-ups at local retailers. Pick-ups are two hours a day (8:30-10:30), Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at places like Target, Walmart, Olive Garden, and Annie’s Pretzels. Perfect for a retired person but it doesn’t have to be! Can take one or two shifts a week!

The Mercy Tree provides God’s word and a meal to the homeless people in the Clear Lake area. Individuals, families, or small groups can volunteer to provide a meal at one of the 4 local churches that provide space for The Mercy Tree. Planning ahead is necessary because dates quickly fill up often months in advance. Open dates can be found on the website (www.themercytree.org) by clicking on the volunteer tab and scrolling through the calendar. When you click on the date, the time and location will appear.

Email volunteer@themercytree.org to sign up for the open date. Currently, the following summer dates are open: August 14, 16, 23, 24, 30; September 8, 16, 20, 29.

Please cook or purchase a meal, and provide cold drinks for 20 individuals. Use disposable food containers and provide paper plates, napkins, and plastic ware.

Opportunity 1: Provide (shop and deliver) basic household items,
such as outside door mats, shower curtain liners, cutting boards,
bathroom plungers, etc. for the twelve residential homes.

Opportunity 2: Provide Gift Cards for residents’ immediate needs:

  • $50 HEB or Kroger cards for groceries or gas
  • $25 VISA cards for Medical Center parking
  • $20 Fast food gift cards (such as Whataburger, McDonald’s or Chick-Fil-A)

Opportunity 3: Ongoing opportunities to help & encourage the families: tray of cookies or any homemade dessert for a family or perhaps a homecooked dinner for a family.

Opportunity 4: Volunteers needed for Houston Open – must be willing to work 3 shifts, November 10-13, 2022, Memorial Park, Houston.

Opportunity 5: PJH has two great events coming up, the Annual Golf Classic and our Gala. The Golf tournament is Monday, October 3 at Kingwood Country Club and the “Fabulous 50’s” Gala is Saturday, October 29 at the Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston. Both events need on-site volunteers, and the Gala also needs donated items for the silent auction.

Opportunity 1: Recovery Chick is in need of small groups to serve the women’s sober living home, Precious Rubies, in Dickinson. The home is in need of the following: one refrigerator, a case of “Life Recovery Bibles,” rotten tree removal, and fence repair.

Opportunity 2: The home also has ongoing opportunities for loving and serving the women in recovery and their families. For more information, or to sign your group up for one of the specific needs listed, please contact Alyssa Baker.

Opportunity 1: We are so excited you are interested in volunteering! There are many ways to join us in our mission to bring permanence and healing to the kids and families from hard places.

  • If you want to enlist your small group, you could provide 6 meals for a family meal train, make/deliver a family care basket, sponsor/serve lunch at a family event, etc.
  • Our Sanctuary staff is one of the hardest working staffs out there. Enlist your small group to serve a meal or make snack packs for encouragement to our frontline staff.

Wheels of Hope is in need of cars to donate to those in need of transportation. The current climate of huge markups in the used car market has made it very hard to find quality vehicles for those in need. We also accept cash to enable us to purchase vehicles. We could also use an ongoing platform to let people in our church body know of this opportunity.

The 4B DRN just finished a home for a single grandmother who had been out of her home since Hurricane Harvey five years ago! It is hard to imagine there are still people like that that still need our help!

Opportunity 1: Work in a home like the one above and help a person come home!

Opportunity 2: We plan for our new Operations Center in Texas City to be a hub for disaster readiness and response for the northern Galveston County area. You can help us prepare the building for that task.
