GOOD NEIGHBORS

We are continuing to serve our Good Neighbors at Rancho del Rey and Town Village mobile home parks through “Ministry by Mail.” Each week that would be a serve week during non-pandemic times, we are writing a note of encouragement, prayer, and scripture, along with ten dollars towards their grocery needs, and mailing to families of the regular attenders of our Bible Study and Grocery Pick up. If you would like to participate in this effort by supporting one family (or more) from the neighborhood, please reach out and we will provide you with the name and address of a family to walk beside.

LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

Opportunity 1: We need 12 people who can take ownership of our 4th Saturday Food Distribution. It takes place every once a month at KE Little Elementary. Lighthouse team members register guests as they arrive and line up, in their vehicles to receive donated food items. The volunteers would bag produce, fill boxes with the produce, load the boxes into recipients vehicles, break down trash and dispose of it after the event. Volunteers arrive by 7:30am and are typically finished by 10:00am. Masks, gloves and closed-toe shoes required.

Opportunity 2:  We are looking for a small group who might be interested in volunteering in our resale shop (2 or 3 people at a time) a few days a week. We need people to sort, price and put out donations to be sold, pull empty close hangers and sale items, work the cash register and assist customers.

Opportunity 3: Help put totgether and deliver Valentine baskets to Kidz Dayz kids and local seniors, in the Bacliff, Bayview, San Leon and Kemah area. All items will go out on the 2nd week of February.

4B DISASTER RESPONSE NETWORK

Three years out from Harvey, we still send teams into the community Tuesday through Saturday to rebuild homes impacted by that hurricane.

We meet at the 4B Warehouse at 144 Park Avenue (the League City Public Works building) at 8 a.m. for prayer and instructions and then go out on assignment.  There is a job for everyone – no construction experience is necessary, just a willingness to help our community.   To register please go to our website.

YOUTH FOR CHRIST

We will be putting together 2-3 person mentor groups around Galveston County to mentor both kids from Galveston County Probation Department and kids who are referred to us from Unbound (a ministry working with kids who have been trafficked). We would just like to put the word out and see if anyone is interested in volunteering as a mentor in our mentor groups. We will put groups together, get them through the application and background check process, train them together and then open them up for kids to be referred to their group.
