CLEAR LAKE FOOD PANTRY
Distribution Team: We need at least 15 people to help distribute food items on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Meet at the Pantry between 7-7:30am to be assigned a station (bagging, sanitizing, traffic, etc). distribution stops around 11 and then we clean up until 11:30. Ideally, the same 15 people would serve as a team each time, but “come when you can” is welcome, too!

LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES
Opportunity 1: Sunshine for Seniors was designed to shine the love of Christ, share the gospel of hope and build encouraging relationships with the seniors in our community. During these uncertain times many of our seniors have been shut-in and are experiencing loneliness. Some have grown depressed while others are living in fear and anxiety as they isolate themselves from the public and even their own family members. The Sunshine for Seniors program hopes to alleviate some of this isolation by pairing our seniors with small group members of the churches that are affiliated with Lighthouse Christian Ministries and to build relationships through correspondence. We pray that this will help lighten their spiritual load and bring peace and joy to our seniors, as well as our small group members!
Opportunity 2: Food Fairs are held 2 times a month. We meet to sort, package and distribute food. The attendees come through a drive through and we load the boxed food into their vehicles.
2nd Tuesday of the month at Bayshore Park.
4th Saturday at KE Little Elementary
Volunteers should arrive by 7:30 am, bring a face covering and wear close-toed shoes.

THE SANCTUARY FOSTER CARE SERVICES
Opportunity 1: Can your small group volunteer at an upcoming foster family support event? We will have one family at each table and one volunteer assigned to each family for social distancing. The next event is Saturday, October 3, 10am-Noon, (we would ask volunteers to come 9:30-12:30 for set up and clean up) and is a therapeutic art event with a retired art professor! If that event does work for your group, contact us and our Volunteer Coordinator will help get you connect to another event!

Opportunity 2: Put together small encouragement gifts for the foster parents in our agency! Our Foster Parent Support coordinator will match your group with an encouragement project based on the season. It might be hand cream that says, “Thank you for being the hands of Jesus to kids in foster care!” Or a bag of homemade cookies that says, “Foster parents are tough cookies!” Or some microwave popcorn that says, “Foster parents are pop stars!” Your group will purchase the items, create the tags, and assemble the gifts to match the number of parents in our agency and then can drop them off at our office and we will deliver them!

4B DISASTER RESPONSE NETWORK
Three years out from Harvey, we still send teams into the community Monday through Friday to rebuild homes impacted by that hurricane. In an effort to accommodate more volunteers, beginning October 4 we will be shifting our workweek to Tuesday through Saturday.
We meet at the 4B Warehouse at 144 Park Avenue (the League City Public Works building) at 8 a.m. for prayer and instructions and then go out on assignment. There is a job for everyone – no construction experience is necessary, just a willingness to help our community. To register please go to our website.

GROCERY DELIVERY FOR THE HOMEBOUND
During this time of social distancing, being homebound can make a person feel even more isolated than usual. Sometimes that isolation can lead to hunger as even those who check on the homebound cannot do so. If you or your small group have an interest in shopping for groceries and delivering them to a homebound person in the Bay Area, please contact Shari. Funding is available for this project! We just need willing volunteers to commit to delivering groceries.
