BE THE LIGHT
OPPORTUNITY 1: Be the Light will be hosting our 3rd Gifting for Freedom event on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 pm. We will be filling 100 gift bags with hygiene products along with notes of encouragement to be presented to our sister organizations that do Street, SPA and Strip Club Outreach. This is our way of forming relationships and providing women in “the LIFE” a way out. We will have a great guest speaker who will enlighten us to the real facts about how easy it is for our youth to be exploited and trafficked. To sign up for product donations CLICK HERE
OPPORTUNITY 2: We need individuals and small groups to help fill the gift bags that will be presented. BTL is honored to have been presented the award winning 2019 documentary “Shattered Dreams”, a documentary that examines heart wrenching personal stories as told from three survivors of trafficking. The story is also one of hope as you learn how easily this happens and by knowing the signs you could save of life of someone you know. We encourage you to bring your neighbors, co-workers or friends to this community-wide awareness event. We will have holiday coffee and treats as we watch the documentary and fill the bags.
OPPORTUNITY 3: We need small groups to donate treats for the event.

HOUSTON WELCOMES REFUGEES
Houston welcomes refugees (HWR) strives to ease the resettlement process for refugees coming to Houston by mobilizing invested, caring volunteers. As followers of Jesus, we believe it is our job to love those who come to our city out of the overflow of love we receive from Christ. Our model is holistic and intended to empower rather than enable the families we serve. The best way we can serve HWR from CCCC is to donate Welcome Kits. These kits contain various household items that a new arriving family will need to set up a home. We are looking for groups interested in putting together kits from time-to-time. Contact Scott via email for details.
